Note to Ottawa and Ontario Jalops: this weekend is the Calabogie Grand Prix, at Calabogie Motorsports park, just over an hour west of Ottawa. Friday is test day, Saturday is qualifying and a few races and Sunday has the bulk of the races.
Series include GT3 Cup, Canada Supercar Series and 944 Cup.
I haven't decided specifically which races I'm going to see but hopefully I'll get out there to snap some more photos.

Cal-A Boogie? Call abogie? Call-A-Bogey? Stupid Canadian names.... Why can't they be simple like Amurican ones? I mean Hamtramak, New Orleans, Detroit, Poughkipsie (Sp?). So easy. Hamtramick, Norleanz, De-Troite, PO-Kipsy.
At least it isn't Penetanguishene...

I know. Is it Moe-Sport or Moss-Port. The town I live in is called Stratford. now is it pronounced Strat-Ford, or Saint Ratford. I know what we call it, and it ain't Bieberville.

I had a guy from Mexico come up and tell me he had been near my hometown. he went to a place called WHELP. could not get the town name right. I went through it for 10 minutes trying to get it right. Then he said he went to a Linamar plant. I said Guelph. he said no. I spelled it on the chalkboard. He said yup. Friggin Pronunciation.

Calabogie is an awesome track to ride! I got out there last season on my trackbike and would be there again this summer if I wasn't in Germany for the year. I assume it's also tons of fun in a car. How is it for spectators there, are there good vantage points around the track? I wasn't really paying attention to that when I was there with the bike, busy riding and learning the track itself.

Could be worse, could live near the Coquihalla highway.
I am laughing at "welp" though.

I've never actually seen a race there but a friend who also races bikes regularly said there are a few good corners but much of the action happens in the woods. I'll probably walk around to try out different positions all day

Ah good luck then! If they use the full track layout there are some really nice sections out in the woods like your friend says. I can't wait to go back!
